Our family is 100% ready for summer!!!
We are constantly talking about
the weather warming up and spending our
day's at the beach...it can't come
fast enough! This morning we
were at the beach watching the waves
and praying for summer to come!!!

Stuck inside

Poor Sophia, stuck inside sick all day
with a high fever, our sweet girl...
allshe keeps asking to do is go to
school because she misses her friends

And then there is Noah...super healthy and not
sick this time around thank God...
His new favorite thing is sitting like a
"big boy" at the kitchen counter
playing on the ipad...this
little guy is so smart and wants to do
anything and everything his sister
does.

Last week we had a plumber scheduled
to come to our house and it drives
me crazy how they give you
a 4 hour window...of course
it was a gorgeous day and all the kids
want to do was go to the beach or park...
but instead we waited and waited
for the "nice man" to show up
Sophia suggested "mommy
let's wait outside for the
nice man to come"
and sure enough he showed
up minutes later...

Disneyland for Adults

Brian and I whisked away last week for a date
night at Disneyland...
and boy did we ever have a blast!
We road all the roller coasters
multiple times and as much as
we LOVE going to the happiest
place on earth with our kiddos it
was so fun being stroller free,
diaper free and have no cares or
responsibilities in the world for
a few fun hours...thank you
mom and dad for
babysitting the kiddos!!!!

Beetle Bug

The children's discovery museum in Palm Desert
is just down the street from our house and whenever the
weather out there doesn't
allow us to play in the pool we always
love going to our favorite local museum!
Our #1 thing to do is paint the Beetle car!!!

STAR our Tennis Star

Sophia started taking tennis lessons 2 weeks

ago. Being that I've always been a tennis player

I've been personally waiting for this day for a long time.

You have to be 4 1/2 years old to start lesson so our day finally

came!!!!

While in Palm Desert last weekend
John aka uncle Kavor gave Sophia a
few lessons, she did really well
following his direction but most importantly
Sophia LOVES playing tennis
and is really enjoying her lessons...I'm such a
proud mama!!!

Cutting Teeth

Our little love bug, our little stinker boy has not been eating
well for the past 2 weeks, but it didn't faze me too
much because generally speaking Noah is our picky eater!
Come to find out our sweet little man was cutting
his 2 year old molars...OK, I'm about to start
crying...everything is happening too fast and my baby
is not a baby anymore he's a toddler...I need to freeze
time I can't even handle this right now!!!!

Ginger Bread House

Another wonderful holiday tradition...every Christmas we all
go to my parents house for dinner, ginger bread house making

Santa Train

The Santa Train...such a fun night that happens every December
in Orange County...the Metrolink train is all decorate for Christmas and stops in each
city for the kids and they do a little performance for the kids on the train...Santa
talks to all the kids, we sing carols and it even snows!
Noah is OBSESSED with trains, so needless to say
this was a PERFECT evening for our little guy!

What a night...

We took the kids to an Armenian dinner and Toy Story on Ice 3 in
LA the other day. These kids were going crazy for Toy Story.
We had blast, what a fun night with our sweet little

Tree Picking

Christmas came early...it's a new car!

The kids got an early Christmas present...a new BMW convertible...haha!!
This is a long story but we went to this Armenian eye care project gala and there was
an auction and a few of my family members were all bidding on the same car
and an long story kinda short...my kids got the car...at least for now...we
will eventually pass it on to the younger kiddos in the family!

Needless to say the kids were BEYOND stoked on their new car!!!

Our 1st Thanksgiving

Brian & I have never hosted Thanksgivng...but we decided this
was the year to give it the old college try and make a few of our own
traditions in our home...here we are stuffing our 1st turkey ever...

Our home was filled with family & friends some that live near
and Brian's brother Bruce and girlfriend Sarah that drove down from
San Francisco

the kids had a blast as always playing together!

our goal this thanksgiving was for everyone to eat lot's, be thankful, nap and

Wedding Dress Shopping for Auntie

My mom, Sophia and I had the privilege of joining
auntie Adrienne, Abby and Niki wedding dress shopping.
As most of you know my brother is engaged and he and
Adrienne will be getting married in August.

Part #2 Palm Desert with the East Coasters!!!

Ahhhh Granny, the closest thing Brian has to his mom...and what a treat to have her with us
for so many days, this was a much need trip that we will remember forever.
Granny has been traveling the WORLD for years but has never been to Palm Springs...
that was a request that we could fill immediately, so we packed, up the Rodgers, Prussings, Aslanian's, Lochhas's and
even a Tumanjan (Meech) and drove to the desert for a fun filled weekend!!!!
I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked but grateful for the ones I got.

Our day's were filled with walks, Jacuzzi time, naps, eating, drinking, lounging and
playing many hours of Taboo (the funnest game ever) and Granny did the
best....I've never laughed so hard in my life watching Granny play
this game...it was pure entertainment!!!

Year 2 of Preschool

I am so behind on our family blog so forgive me as Sophia started school
up again a month ago. But she is loving every minute of learning and growing.
Sophia's latest thing is coming home with memorized bible verses...Sophia continues to
amaze us everyday!!!!

Our 1st Broken bone...

I know there will be the first of many things to come but
broken bones is one first that i am not a fan of.
Sophia was hit by a tricycle handle bar by another student at school
and x-ray's confirmed that she broke her collar bone

Sophia has been so incredibly brave during the entire process.
She has her moments of pain but for the most part
she still thinks she can do anything like ride a bike, jump on our
trampoline do ballet and the list goes on...but how do you tell a 4 year
old not to do those things?!?!

So back to school Sophia went, brave as can be...and of course
She over did it at home and preschool and we were back in for more
x-ray's because we thought she had re-injured it again...but thank goodness
she didn't. She has been put into a sling for now...doctor's orders and were hoping
that will remind her to take it easy!!!!

we were recently blessed with a fun filled day with Bruce (Brian's brother)

Butterfly Transfer

after all the caterpillars were hanging upside down from their lids it was
time to transfer then to their new home, a butterfly pavillion

now we wait another 10 day's for then to grow into monarch butterflies

both Sophia & Noah have been loving this entire process, everyday

they check on their catapillars to make sure they are doing ok.

ever from Gail, my Godmother...10 caterpillars for us to

take care of, watch them grow and transfer into the butterfly

pavilion.

Once the caterpillars turn into butterfly's we get to enjoy

Where do we even begin? It's been waterworks central over at the Rodgers house for the past 2 weeks...the fact that our daughter turned 4 is just beyond anything i can imagine...and I can't stop crying about it! I know how cheesy this sounds but its really feels like Sophia was just born. My emotions are on a roller coaster ride...Sophia is growing up so quickly and we just can't believe what a wonderful little girl she is turing into. Sophia mommy and daddy are so incredibly PROUD of you! You have a heart of gold! You always think of other people before you think of yourself. Your giving, kind, patient, sweet, funny, smart, a loving big sister to Noah, a great dancer, a social butterfly, an artist, a ballerina, a soccer player, a clothes designer (seriously this kid is going to be a fashion designer at the rate she is going)...but of all you are our angel that we have been blessed with. Since the day you were born you have changed who we are...because of you Sophia you have taught us to enjoy everyday to the fullest, laugh often, smile all the time and to have a giving heart! We love you Sophia and thank God for you everyday! Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Sophia is officially 4 years old and 40 inches which means

she was tall enough to ride on Splash Mountain at Disneyland!

She has been talking about riding this ride for the past 2 months

Mother's Day in Laguna Beach

There isn't a day that goes by that i don't feel like the luckiest

woman in the world. God has blessed me with the most amazing

family. My husband, my soul mate and my best friend

and our 2 amazing children that bring me

so much joy every single day of my life.

I had the best Mother's day with my

husband and kids in Laguna Beach.
Brunch, strolling on the beach, chasing the waves,

and shopping at the candy baron for

the kiddos...what more could i ask for.

Creamy Crayons for Breakfast??

It was a perfect Saturday morning, we had all just finished

eating breakfast, the kids were still running around in their Pajama's

and I ran upstairs for 2 minutes to make a phone call...(this incident

happened on Brian's watch, not mine :)

the next thing i hear is Sophia running up the stairs

saying "mommy Noah got crayons all over his face

and his teeth are black too"

Poor Brian, within seconds of me zipping away Noah

got into his sisters creamy crayon arts and crafts and

went to town on his face & teeth!!!!!

Love you Noah...you always make us laugh!!

Easter at Mamika & Papika's House!!!

we tried so hard to get a family picture and a new

picture of the kids...but it didn't work out so great so this is what

we got instead...

coloring Easter eggs...

my dad is the "pro" when it comes to coloring Easter eggs.

He has all these tricks up his sleeves of

mixing colors and creating oil based color and blending colors...

it's so fun!

Baking for Easter

We have so many Armenian traditions in my family

and during the holiday's we are in full swing.
every year at Easter time we make a sweet bread
called "Kooliche" and a cheese that goes with it "Paska".
As long as I can remember i have participated in making these
two items with my grandmother Babu along with her special cookies.
This year we had Auntie Michelle join us...such a special treat to
have her with us for the night!

Noah was in charge of the sprinkles...

and Mamika could not get enough of her time with her grandchildren

Sophia has always been my little helper and my little chef.

Now that Noah is a little older naturally he wants to

do everything his big sister does...so Noah

has decided that he wants to help in the kitchen too...

Going crazy for the Trampoline!!!!

Our wonderful, sweet and amazing neighbors

that now have 4 boy's gave us their old trampoline

because they needed a new one...for obvious reasons :) So we graciously took their old trampoline off their hands!

Cousins finally meeting!

We finally had the opportunity to meet one of Brian's
cousin's from Seattle Laura Jensen and her husband Seth
and 2 boy's Dylan and Drew. They were in town for a Lego Land
vacation and we were able to work a dinner into their travel plans.
All 4 cousins just loved hanging out and all got along so well!

loved having them around!

San Juan Fun

Last weekend we had intentions of taking the kids

to Zoomars in San Juan. Which is a really cool petting zoo

that has pony rides and train rides in the old rustic part of

San Juan Capistrano. But the line to get in

was ridiculous so instead we just cruised

around and enjoyed the area...Sophia loves Zoomars so

we will be going back for sure...she will hold us to it!
